I have discussed the concept of mys in a previous post. But now that the weather has turned, the nights are drawing in, the rain is falling and the leaves are turning all the lovely shades between brown, yellow and red, I thought I would write an autumn-themed post for höstmys (autumn mys), because it is a thing! And it may help make the short days and dark nights more bearable for you all.
10 ways to höstmys

The Swedes have a saying “Det finns inget dålig väder, bara dåliga kläder”, which translates as “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes”. Wrap yourself up in a coat and big warm scarf, grab a takeaway coffee and go for an autumnal walk (preferably with a dog and a friend) and admire the changing colours of the leaves

Make some homemade soup, buy a loaf of artisan bread to dip into it

Go apple picking and make an apple crumble or apple pie

Set up a hammock between two trees and mys there for as long as you can with a big blanket until you get cold!

Invite your friend around for an autumn-themed brunch like I did the other weekend! Can you tell I’m a bit proud?

Have a pyjama day with someone and watch movies

Pour yourself and a friend a glass of mulled wine while you catch up
Pumpkins aren’t just for Halloween! Either buy or pick a couple of pumpkins in different sizes and arrange them on your doorstep or around the house for ultimate autumn inspired cosiness

Host a bonfire with your closest friends and toast marshmallows on the fire and drink Irish coffees and Baileys hot chocolate

Go for a picnic on a day it isn’t raining – the weather isn’t too hot or too cold and the views will be spectacular
Hopefully this will give you some inspiration to inject a bit of höstmys into your life!
